L.A. Notes: What Goes On In LA, Stays In LA?

Conference PSFK L.A. (photo: psfk.com) - Photo Hosted at Buzznet

Warmest thanks to Piers of PSFK for inviting me at the PSFK Conference in Los Angeles on Sept 18. I was on a panel with great bloggers and writers to discuss the cultural trends in LA, with guidance from moderator Adriana Parcero: green issues; L.A.’s growing impact on the fashion world; what defined a center for LA; the possibility of Downtown becoming downtown and L.A. as a metaphor for the Internet.

I mostly talked about L.A. as the capital of mass appeal and center of hype, with edgy, up-to-the-minute brands such as American Apparel and Forever 21. We also talked about how Young Hollywood has been stealing the fashion scene with the help of characters such as the Cobra Snake and Cory Kennedy.
+ Coverage from the PSFK blog.
